My journey Through Elite Sport
An athletic scholarship to UBC put me among the top 1% of high school athletes. From there, I was a starter on a university team that reached three consecutive Final Fours and two National Championship Finals.
Years in high-performance sport taught me that progress is built with structure, repetition, and clear feedback.
At UBC, I was surrounded by coaches, trainers, and support staff who treated development as a long game. The standard was simple: fundamentals first, habits second, results third.
When I had kids of my own, I coached them from U5 through U9. During those seasons, I saw firsthand how children trying sports for the first time struggle, and how few resources are available to them. When I asked 9-year-olds to put their feet shoulder width apart and they didn't know what I meant I knew there was a problem.
That perspective shapes how I coach today. I want young athletes to feel capable early, build real movement skill, and earn confidence through experiences that match their readiness.
